Meg Ryan - Plastic Surgery
For the longest time, Meg Ryan was the sweetheart of Hollywood. Then she started taking on racy roles and the rumors of Meg Ryan and plastic surgery started.
Meg Ryan - Plastic Surgery
One of the biggest trends among Hollywood's aging population is plastic surgery. From face lifts to breast lifts, women (and in some cases, men) in the public eye are going under the knife in order to obtain a more youthful appearance. In some cases, plastic surgery works wonders; it can smooth out wrinkles, get rid of puffiness, and make bodies look more fit. In other cases, such as with celebrities like Joan Rivers, plastic surgery can be a big mistake. In the case of Meg Ryan, plastic surgery (rumored) seems to have gone horribly wrong.
Meg Ryan was once known as America's darling. Cute and bubbly, her messy blond hair and large grins were a trademark that followed her through her many romantic comedies. Ryan was born in 1961, as Margaret Mary Emily Anne Hyra (she chose Meg Ryan as her stage name in 1981). Meg Ryan studied journalism at New York University, and started her acting career by doing commercials to pay her way through college. Her first feature film was completed in 1981, and she then worked on soap operas through the early 1980's.
Meg Ryan's first big film role came in the movie, When Harry Met Sally... and it began her string of roles (some would say typecasting) in romantic comedies. Through the 1990's, Ryan has a successful run of romantic comedies, with three of her biggest films happening when she was paired with Tom Hanks. During this time, most of her popularity was found in this type of movie, but she did attempt to break out of these typical roles – and in 2003 Ryan filmed the movie, In the Cut, a drama where she appeared naked.
During the 2003 press tour for this movie is when rumors of Meg Ryan plastic surgery started. Her lips looked much larger than they had previously, and some people said that her face appeared different as well – it was speculated that this was because of a face lift. Ryan's lips were more than just plumper, she was actually looking less attractive because of the over large lips. Meg Ryan never confirmed that she had plastic surgery on her face or body.
In a 2006 interview with Oprah, Meg Ryan still appeared to have larger lips and spoke openly about her recent adoption of a daughter from China, and her relationship troubles. Ryan did not, however, admit to having plastic surgery, nor did she deny it.
