Lil Kim - Plastic Surgery

There are celebrities that go in for enhancements and then try to deny doing so. When it comes to Lil Kim and plastic surgery, there is simply no denial involved.

Lil Kim - Plastic Surgery

Sometimes, plastic surgery can start out being a helpful tool in the shaping of an image, and then turn into something that looks horribly wrong. The gossip columns and glossy magazines are covered with pictures of celebrities who have had cosmetic procedures that have gone awry, or stories about women and men who have had too much work done and now look fake and plastic. One such person that these stories persist about is Lil Kim – plastic surgery seems to have become an obsession with this rap star.

Lil Kim was born Kimberly Jones, in New York City on July 11, 1974. She was raised in Brooklyn mostly by her father, as her parents divorced when Lil Kim was young. Her relationship with her father ended when an argument caused her to try to stab him, after this Lil Kim lived on the streets until she was discovered by rap artist Notorious B.I.G. (aka Biggie Smalls). He became her mentor and best friend (and some say lover), and encouraged her to start her rap career.

Lil Kim's first album was with the group Junior Mafia, but she quickly progressed to releasing her own solo album, “Hard Core” in 1996. During this time, Kim also started modeling for such companies as Candies, Versace and Baby Phat; this is also when she started having plastic surgery and other cosmetic work done on her face and body. In 1999, she recorded her second album using a style called Pop-Rap by those in the Hip Hop world. In 2000, Lil Kim released her second album, Notorious K.I.M. (an homage to her mentor).

Some of the biggest changes in Lil Kim started happening during this time, as she received large breast implants (some say too large for her small 4'11” frame) and also got rhinoplasty done. Kim admits to having had several major procedures, and states that most of her nose work was done because of damage she sustained from abusive relationships. It is evident from pictures that Lil Kim has also had major amounts of chemical bleaching performed on her face, although she is not as open to talking about these modifications.

Other rap stars, such as 50 Cent, have commented on the massive Lil Kim plastic surgery, stating that she looked better before all of the cosmetic procedures. Others seem to think that she is being self-destructive with all of the plastic surgery she is getting – and that she needs to stop before she ends up looking like Michael Jackson.
