Kenny Rogers - Plastic Surgery
Kenny Rogers has always been known as the quintessential manly country singer. And then the rumors of Kenny Rogers and plastic surgery started making the rounds.
Kenny Rogers - Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery is very common among women in the entertainment world. Some of them speak openly about the cosmetic procedures they've had performed, while other actresses and women in the spotlight prefer to deny that they've had anything done. There is another side to plastic surgery, however – the male side. Men have work done too, and some of them are not at all ashamed to talk about it. For country music star Kenny Rogers, plastic surgery was something he didn't mind talking about.
Kenny Rogers was born Kenneth Donald Rogers in Houston, Texas, in 1938. One of America's most prolific and popular country music singers, with more than 62 top ten singles throughout his lengthy career. Rogers has topped music charts (both pop and country) for more than 458 individual weeks in the US – more than almost any other musical artist in history. He won a lifetime achievement award for his long career in 2003.
Kenny Rogers started his solo music career in the year 1958, when he released his first single, “That Crazy Feeling”, which was a minor hit on the charts. From these humble beginnings, Rogers was able to build a career where he reached number one on the Billboard music charts over 25 times. He was featured on soundtracks for movies and television, and even opened his own chain of restaurants, Kenny Rogers Roasters. He has acted in movies, such as 1982's Six Pack, enjoying some success as an actor – and he has been parodied by such television shows as MADtv and Seinfeld. (Rogers is a good sport about this ribbing.)
When it comes to plastic surgery, Rogers is extremely open. He admits to having had plastic surgery numerous times, both earlier in his career and more recently. Concerns about his weight, his graying hair and wrinkles have all compelled Kenny Rogers to modify his appearance in different ways. From different hair styles and losing massive amounts of weight, to an eye lift he had surgically done last year, Rogers is very honest about not liking his looks and doing something to change them.
For Kenny Rogers, plastic surgery was just a way to regain his younger appearance and bolster his self-esteem. What is not as common as his reasons for surgery is the fact that he is unashamed about speaking about his procedures. Hopefully, his example will lead more celebrities to be honest about their surgeries.
