Robert De Niro Say No to Plastic Surgery

Some older male celebrities benefit from plastic surgery, but many do not. Robert De Niro is now voicing his opinion and clearly saying no to plastic surgery.

I’ve often found it odd when some men get plastic surgery. Why? Well, there is something to be said for the handsomeness of a man as he ages. Lines around the eyes on a woman are not a good look, but on men they tend to show a certain wisdom and, frankly, I like them.

There has been much ado about the merits of plastic surgery in Hollywood these days. While a huge number of younger stars have breast and nose jobs as well as botox and other procedures, what about the older stars? Jane Fonda has touted the nip and tuck as a way to stay relevant while luminaries like Meryl Streep have suggested just the opposite.

Robert De Niro has long been at the top of the line when it comes to classic actors. He has a powerful, strong face that is made all the more that way for the lines and age it shows. He is now saying that he would not undergo plastic surgery for himself and would prefer to age gracefully. It is an interesting take given many other male actors take the opposite approach.

De Niro gives an interesting reason for his lack of surgery. He is of the belief that we are all going to get older and there is not denying it. Plastic surgery might make things look a bit younger, but ultimately you know how old you are and there is simply no denying the aging process. Interesting indeed.

Generally, I believe cosmetic surgery is very appropriate for women. In older men, I tend to think the lines in their face add a certain handsomeness to them. Perhaps it is just me!
