Australia Hurdler Jana Rawlinson Removes Breast Implants For Olympics

Any race car designer can tell you that speed is a factor of weight and aerodynamics. Apparently agreeing, Australia hurdler Jana Rawlinson has removed her breast implants for the 2012 Olympics.

Hurdlers tend to be pretty non-descript until the Olympics roll around every four years. Not Jana Rawlinson. She is a star in Australia if for no other reason than she is in the tabloids frequently. Her personal relationships are the thing of legend and she has always been a bit publicity oriented. Think of Paris Hilton with talent.


The one thing about Jana Rawlinson that has always drawn attention is her physique. To be brutally honest, most hurdlers have muscles that could be described as ropey. Because they run so much, they are cut with body fat measurements that could make the thinnest of women jealous. The downside, of course, is this also results in very small breasts. Rawlinson has long stood out because she did not have this problem. Instead, she had an ample chest due to implants. Frankly, she looked great.

Well, now Rawlinson is getting serious about her running. The 2012 Summer Olympics are just around the corner. Given this, she has announced she doesn’t want to “short-change” Australia with her running. To avoid this, she is having her implants removed so she’ll be more athletic and, more importantly, improve her chances of winning a medal.



So, what are Rawlinson’s chances and will the removal of the implants help? She appears to have the talent and ability to get into the medals. That being said, her best hope appears to be a bronze or silver although you never know. Will the removal of the implants help her? It could. Implants are hardly heavy, but every bit of weight loss translates into slightly more speed. Perhaps more important, she’ll might gain a mental advantage of simply thinking she is faster.

All I know is I’ll tune in to see the results.
